We dedicate a minimum of 2 hours of training a day to your dog. It is broken up into 15-20 minute sessions throughout the day, multiple times a day. The amount of time spent training a dog is dependent on the dog themselves. Some can handle more training sessions than others!

Your dog stays in a home setting with our experienced trainer, all of which are bonded and insured! Inside the comfort of our homes, your dog is going to get training in a familiar setting of a warm and cozy home versus a facility with concrete walls. Your dog’s comfort and safety is our top during their stay with us. When they are well behaved enough, they get to come on all the adventures with us and the canine caravan!

We offer 3 day intensive training packages in your area for those who live unreasonably far outside of his immediate service area. Contact us for more info!

At our training center, we employ a balanced approach that incorporates both rewards and corrections. We believe that this balanced method yields the best results for our canine companions. Rewards such as treats, praise, and toys, is a powerful tool for motivating dogs and reinforcing desired behaviors. It helps create a strong bond between dogs and their owners while making training enjoyable for both parties.

However, we also recognize that no dog can be effectively trained without corrections. Corrections are not intended to be harsh or punitive but rather to provide clear feedback to dogs about unwanted behaviors. Just as rewards communicate what’s expected, corrections communicate what’s not. These corrections are delivered calmly and consistently, ensuring that dogs understand the boundaries and expectations.

Our goal is to create a well-rounded training experience that sets dogs up for success in various situations. By combining rewards and corrections, we ensure that dogs not only learn desired behaviors but also understand the consequences of inappropriate actions. This approach promotes a balanced and harmonious relationship between dogs and their owners while fostering obedience and good behavior.

Prong collars are only communication tools that are definitely not necessary for all dogs. A prong collar allows humans to communicate to dogs in a much easier way for the dog to understand. We only recommend ever using the Herm Sprenger prong collar due to its perfected craftsmanship and balanced prongs placed on the collar that virtually makes it impossible to torque and harm the dog's neck in any way.

Absolutely not! The prong collar is actually one of the safest collar you can use on your dog, it takes pressure off of the dogs trachea and distributes it evenly around the dogs neck. We prefer to go slow with prong collars, teaching the dog leash pressure first before introducing this tool.

We teach the e-collar with low-level stim, similar to a TENS unit. This sensation feels more like a tingle than a hot sharp shock from a cheap collar. This type of low-level work is incredibly effective and gentle enough for any dog.

The short answer is yes! We will evaluate your dog to assess whether or not he/she is exhibiting fear aggression or dominance aggression. Some of our staff is equipped to deal with aggression but not all. If fear or dominance aggression is unmanageable due to whatever circumstance whether environmental or a psychological condition, we will refer you to work personally with Jeff or Sami.

Yes absolutely! We are partnered with Klarna & Affirm via Stripe to offer payment plans.

Yes, our training programs are designed to address a wide range of behavior challenges. Whether your dog has issues with fear aggression, anxiety, excessive barking, or any other behavior problem, our experienced trainers will work with you to create a customized training plan to address those specific issues effectively.

While dogs stay with us for our Board and Train program, we believe it’s important for owners to be involved in the training process. While you won’t be present for training sessions, we’ll provide you with regular updates on your dog’s progress. Additionally, we’ll work with you during the handover phase to ensure you’re comfortable and confident in continuing the training at home.

At Everstead K9 Academy, we are committed to helping you achieve your training goals. If your dog does not exhibit the agreed-upon behaviors outlined during your evaluation, we will continue working with your dog until they demonstrate the desired progress, as discussed during our initial consultation. This guarantee excludes aggressive or reactive behaviors, as we cannot guarantee the complete eradication of these specific issues.

For clients participating in private training sessions, we offer an extended support option. If you consistently send us a 15-minute video daily via WhatsApp, demonstrating your training with your dog on the homework we provide throughout the program, we will continue to assist you at no additional cost until the desired results are achieved.
